Welcome to PrimeSobriety
Hi. My name is Jim Fisher, and I’m an alcoholic.
I will always be an alcoholic. That’s my reality, and I accept that. Everything that’s good in my life is a direct result of the program of Alcoholics Anonymous working in it.
Attendance at my first meeting wasn’t exactly my idea, but returning for the next one was. By now, I’ve been sober longer than I haven’t. I’ve made a lot of boneheaded mistakes along the way, and I’ve learned a lot of important lessons in the process.
I’m just like you: An ordinary alchy muddling through life as best I can. They’re not discussing my importance at AA World Headquarters, and children from neighboring villages aren’t singing songs and performing dances in celebration of my recovery.
However, I do know a thing or two about staying sober.
Don’t expect me to preach a bunch of AA dogma here. I hate that crap. I’m not some Recovery Stud.
But I will tell you about the one thing I’m an authority on; me.
This blog represents a “Greatest Hits” compilation of my past 35 years of having this stuff waterboarded into me, one day at a time. You’re getting all my best material.
